A 24MP front camera
The selfie camera is tipped to jump from 18MP to 24MP across the line-up. If you shoot a lot of video calls, selfies or front-facing content for social, this is a more useful upgrade than it sounds, because higher resolution also gives the phone more room to crop and stabilise.
A brighter screen and a smaller Dynamic Island
Suppliers have reportedly been given unusually demanding brightness targets for the iPhone 18 Pro displays, which should help in direct sunlight. The Dynamic Island is also expected to shrink, giving you back a sliver of screen at the top. Rumours of an eventual under-display Face ID system keep circulating, but most reporting places that further out.
Apple's own C2 modem
The iPhone 18 line is expected to move to Apple's in-house C2 modem, continuing the shift away from Qualcomm. Expect better power efficiency and tighter integration with iOS features, including privacy controls that limit how precisely apps can locate you.
